This bushwalk is suitable for beginners or those with some experience. Starting from Mapleton Day Use Area we will make our way down an old logging road, which is well maintained.  Along the trail we will see reminders of logging of yesteryear. There's a tiny bit of off track along the creek to negotiate before reaching the falls,  Once down at the falls you will be able to scramble over the rocks and enjoy the solitude for our morning tea break.

The water for the falls is the South Maroochy River cascading over the boulders (when ample rainfall) before falling 30m into a hidden gorge.  After morning tea, we will make our way backup along the trail to the day use area. Approximately 10km walk with 247m loss/gain

There are quite a few "undulations" that will quieten chat but they can be taken at your own pace. The track may be quite muddy in spots if there has been any recent rain.

Please be aware that the Mapleton Day Use area is accessed via a well maintained dirt road. 4wd or SUV not necessary.

Toilets are located at the Day Use Area.
