Clean Up Australia Day - Nambour Petrie Park

Clean Up Australia Day is a significant activity that the Club participates in every year.

This is our way to give back and protect the environment that we are lucky to be able to enjoy on our Club activities.

This year the clean up will be in Nambour along Petrie Creek where we sometimes see platypus. A juvenile platypus recently became entangled in string in the creek so it shows how critical it is to keep the creek and riparian areas free of rubbish and entanglements. The clean up will also include the dog park and some other green park areas in the immediate vicinity.

Collection bags and gloves are provided by Clean Up Australia.

After our collection we will enjoy a picnic morning tea (provided by the Club).

NB - Parking is street parking beside the park opposite the creek. (just below the Nambour Pool).

What to bring:

Sun protection - hat, long sleeves

Water bottle

Enclosed shoes

Gloves are provided but you are welcome to bring your own

If you have a long handles pair of grippers they could be handy for getting rubbish out of the creek.

BYO hot water and a cup please! We will have tea bags and instant coffee and food (store bought sorry!)
