DIRECTIONS

Kirbys Road Reserve is at the southern end of Obi Obi Valley. If you Google it make sure you put in “Kirbys Road Obi Obi”. If you are coming from Mapleton, at the bottom of the hill you turn left on to a dirt road called Lower Suses Pocket Road. After about 500 m you turn right on to Kirbys Road and you continue on a couple of kilometers to the second gate and carpark. The road access is past a number of houses, please drive at a speed so you don’t create a plume of dust. I am sure our neighbors would greatly appreciate it.

WASH DOWN PROCEEDURE

All vehicles entering and leaving the Reserve will need to have their tyres sprayed to prevent the spread of Phytophthora (a soil borne disease). You will also need to clean you bushwalking boots on entering and leaving. There is a boot cleaning station at the far end of the carpark and beside that is a box with a pump spray bottle for your tyres. Your camping gear should be clean and tent pegs washed to remove any soil. The Club will purchase a couple of spray bottles to clean your gear before you pack it away.

Walkers doing the Dark Skys Walk on Saturday and Escarpment Walk Sunday will have to clean their boots before coming back to camp.
